Make your own road

Don't go through the tiny window that everyone is trying to get through, take the vast gate at which no one is looking.

this is the final time I am watching peter theil lecture on monopoly

I have understood that one has to be a monopoly in order to win in business.....that to not once ...but consistently and certainly for the foreseeable future....

So having unfair advantage or cultivated unfair advantage is what makes you - The Alexander

this will help you prioritize task in life..... it will take some time to adapt to this harsh way of prioritizng activities ....but one has to do it in order to achieve desired results.....

"what we are doing isn't working, so do more of it!"

Most salespeople already work enough hours, and trying to
get them to work harder is like trying to solve a problem by
going faster in the wrong direction. It's bailing water out of
the boat faster rather than fixing the leak.

knowing is worth shit...... creating habit create change- sales

In high-productivity sales organizations, salespeople
do not cause customer acquisition growth, they fulfill it.

you build models...computers will take care of numbers

track progress on computers, that is what they do best

computers and humans have complementary skill sets.... use them

thanks peter theil..... you book is always an awesome journey to realizing truths.

Definite micro plans and its important

An entrepreneur can’t benefit from macro-scale insight unless his own plans begin at the micro-scale.

Sales should be hidden..... interesting

The best sales is hidden. There’s nothing wrong with a CEO who can sell, but if he actually looks like a salesman, he’s probably bad at sales and worse at tech

Utility over technology

Customers won’t care about any particular technology unless it solves a particular problem in a superior way.

Benefit of slow moving markets

Entering a slow-moving market can be a good strategy, but only if you have a definite and realistic plan to take it over

Wednesday, 26 July 2017

Sales is equally important as product

All of us want to believe that we make up our own minds, that sales doesn’t work on us. But it’s not true. Everybody has a product to sell—no matter whether you’re an employee, a founder, or an investor. It’s true even if your company consists of just you and your computer. Look around. If you don’t see any salespeople, you’re the salesperson

Satya vachan part 2

If you can get just one distribution channel to work, you have a great business. If you try for several but don’t nail one, you’re finished

Satya Vachan

Most businesses get zero distribution channels to work: poor sales rather than bad product is the most common cause of failure

Definition of last mover or monopoly

Whoever is first to dominate the most important segment of a market with viral potential will be the last mover in the whole market

Monday, 24 July 2017

Product and sales channel both have to be invented to be a monopoly

If you’ve invented something new but you haven’t invented an effective way to sell it, you have a bad business—no matter how good the product

Sales cure all

Sales cure all by Mark Cuban I need to think little deeper about this topic

Can power law be the solution for problems related to humans

It seems reasonable question to be asked.

I am trying to experiment this thing if I turn out to be correct that power law has solutions to almost 80% of problems related to humans then I would have considered my past 5 years worthy of my effort.

Power law on learning

Every university believes in “excellence,” and hundred-page course catalogs arranged alphabetically according to arbitrary departments of knowledge seem designed to reassure you that “it doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you do it well.”
That is completely false. It does matter what you do. You should focus relentlessly on something you’re good at doing, but before that you must think hard about whether it will be valuable in the future

There is only one rule in business

This implies two very strange rules for VCs. First, only invest in companies that have the potential to return the value of the entire fund. This is a scary rule, because it eliminates the vast majority of possible investments. (Even quite successful companies usually succeed on a more humble scale.) This leads to rule number two: because rule number one is so restrictive, there can’t be any other rules

Power law

The biggest secret in venture capital is that the best investment in a successful fund equals or outperforms the entire rest of the fund combined

The bivgest mistake most founders make.....including me

Sequencing markets correctly is underrated, and it takes discipline to expand gradually. The most successful companies make the core progression—to first dominate a specific niche and then scale to adjacent markets—a part of their founding narrative

Found the solution

Sequencing markets correctly is underrated, and it takes discipline to expand gradually

Kumar ujjwal leart this the hard way

Paradoxically, then, network effects businesses must start with especially small markets. Facebook started with just Harvard students—Mark Zuckerberg’s first product was designed to get all his classmates signed up, not to attract all people of Earth. This is why successful network businesses rarely get started by MBA types: the initial markets are so small that they often don’t even appear to be business opportunities at all.

Need to understand human decision making

And impact of making a decision on life and body and mind and behavior and habit

impact of a decision on the brain

does the body conform to the decision taken or does it resist ?

DO our expectation and behavioral response change once we have made a decision ?

These are interesting questions.

I do not know answer to these questions. But I think , it must be pretty core to our existence. In the whole day I see myself making dicisions ....some are small and some have huge impact on my life.

Nobody taught me or for that matter anyone, how to make decisions........ what I do think would be interesting would be to understand pre and post impact of a decision on our brain and anatomy and habit.

I can hypothesize a few outcomes ....but It just occurred to me...that if I could know the pre and post impact of decisions in life ( or at least for certain category of decisions), I could use that knowledge for my self interest.

it will be interesting to come to this realization.

Competition is for loosers

https://youtu.be/z6K8PZxyQfU

Be so unique that you have a competition of one - yourself

Thanks

share my journey - try to be as honest as possible

leaving business secrets ...  I will share all most every thing here..so future ujjwals would know how i did it

keep believing in yourself and keep working hard - fuck nay-sayers :)

bring all the variable in life - normalize it in terms of time

money
productivity
health
roi
investment
relationships
activity
leverage

time is the only real constraint in life - everything else can be bought

its tools , learn to use them wisely and improve you use - ability every day

Removing the basic necessity , everything is more or less tool for achieving things in life.

use tools as wisely as possible.

I,now, realized that tools can never and will never replace the satisfaction one gets from improving oneself and helping others getting better everyday.

Thanks kevin oleary

You made it clear for me..... True power of capitalism

no music from now onwards

I have a habit of doing anything with a single minded focus - listening to music is counter productive for me. As I listen at a very high volume and It ignites some sort of hangover effect in my head.

NO MORE MUSIC - FOCUS ON OUTPUT

Keep smiling

thank you andrew groove for making me see the game behind every action

my dear Andrew,

If you had been alive, I would have written a hand note to you. I can not express the amount of satisfaction that I have experience  because of your notes on management.

I have been really lucky to come across your book -I could not say for sure why your found your book. But one thing is for sure...... you have completely changed my life.

There should be indicators in everything we do - lesson number 1.

Indicators keep us grounded in reality - lesson number 2.

Indicators change every activity in a game - lesson number 3.

Some indicators are more important that others - lesson number 4.

Thank you my guru....thank you very much..... every other book that i read about management would talk about philosophical bullshit wrap in big words with zero applicability. On the contrary, you book was simple and action oriented.

You taught me that the world is rooted in two type of actions -

1) function driven
2) fashion driven

I have chosen to be function driven

thank you

KU

treat everyone as customers

you will be really happy..

ode to habit

all that i am, is nothing but collection of a few habits
all that i can do , is to improve them as i grow
all that i want, is to have journeymen who understand this
in the end, we have is ourselves and our flawed existence....... and our fight for constant improvement of ourselves
