A blatant rip-off of amazon's philosophy

They make sure that team sizes are usually no bigger than the number of people who can be fed by 2 pizzas i.e 2-3 people per executing team for tighter execution quality.

I am of the same opinion.... keep the independent unit of execution as small as possible...for creating certainty.
