cake policy

I will make a company policy that every client interaction has to precede with eating pudding or cake with the client.

No matter what

or don't meet them.

KU

to make a billionaire out of you

1) find  a long-term problem, something that will have existence even if all technology to support it changes

2) once you have found the long-term problem - solve it

3) while solving it, build technology required to make it happen

reid and peter theil - advice to break free from the competition

Now is the time to break free from the competition, I know the world will never be the same.

o my gurus ..... help me....give me the strength to persist.

the more I think about escape velocity, the more I understand the difference between Indian entrepreneurs and American entrepreneurs.

The difference is between the knowledge set that is present in the environment.

Nobody had ever stated this brutally obvious thing about being a startup founder, this simple truth that these two people had experience and now have shared with the world.

the whole point of starting and building a startup is to create something valuable for others and becoming a monopoly in that verticle.

I use to hear a lot about the first part of that statement, but nobody use to talk about the next step which, in some sense, is more important than finding a value proposition.

growing fast does not mean compromising with quality. But, it surely ask us to become the most dominant player in that verticle as soon as possible.

Let me tell you how the capitalist system is designed - it will instantly shift to the side which has the maximum chance of increasing capital. ( no emotion or relationship is considered while making this decision)

Jab aap hero ho to sab mentor hai, jab app nahi ho to koi nahi hai

Vijay Shekhar Sharma

Thank you sir

Be an unstoppable force

World will catch upto you later than you imagine

Just keep doing it

Just keep improving your path

Mr.rajiv bajaj

I remember Mr Rajiv bajaj saying that all problems can be answered if this question can be answered

Who am I?

His answer was - a motor cycle maker

Mine is - a self corrective powerlawed unstoppable force That acquires knowledge and apply knowledge.

That is what I called enlightenment

Enlightened psychopaths rule the world

Need to experiment

I feel enlightened ... A really cheezy thing to say

I don't require anything in life

Nothing in the external world affects my state of existence

I have found answer to my question , and it feels complete too

Now everything just becomes a game

The only interesting thing remaining is to see how well one could play the game

What's the difference between you owning a Lamborghini and you think you own a Lamborghini ,from your brain point of you ?

Answer - nothing , both are just state of mind

We humans are really good at creating different state of mind :)

Everytime i habe not followed power law

I have failed

Marketing specially works on MBAs

There decision to MBA itself is largely driven by marketing to which they have succumbed

The more money you make , the more you are helping people

Business is such a nobel path to wealth creation

The more you grow, the more you help

Origin of money

When the division of labour has been once thoroughly established, it is but a very small part of a man's wants which the produce of his own labour can supply. He supplies the far greater part of them by exchanging that surplus part of the produce of his own labour, which is over and above his own consumption, for such

parts of the produce of other men's labour as he has occasion for. Every man thus lives by exchanging, or becomes in some measure a merchant, and the society itself grows to be what is properly a commercial society

What drives my action?

It is the search for the answer to my deepest questions

Society is based on division of labour

Thanks Adam Smith

For clearing concept about  my most basic question

This is how we make money according to Adam Smith

As it is by treaty, by barter, and by purchase that we obtain from one another the greater part of those mutual good offices which we stand in need of, so it is this same trucking disposition which originally gives occasion to the division of labour

Wealth creation habit

I should make a movement out of this knowledge

Should share with as many people as possible

I think knowledge about wealth creation should be a right for every human, it is the most important think for survival but alas ...we are not taught about it.

My understanding of money waa wrong

The programming that I had received related to money was absolutely against wealth creation

I have to accept it

And focus on wealth creation , as it is one of the most Nobel path towards freedom

What do you do when nature makes your worst dream come true, in the exact way you didn't want it to.

You wake up

Education is meant to teach and learn non-intuitive things

Big idea

It's only non intuitive things that really require teaching and mentoring

Price is the perceived value that the customer pays for the service or product of the provider

A new way to understand money

Think of it as a token of voluntary exchange of goods and services

Price is the perceived value that the customer pays for the service or product of the provider

So the more customer  perceive your product and service as valuable , the higher are your chances to end up rich.

This simple understanding changes your relationship with money

Cold blooded approach to focus

What if nothing excite you, other than the only thing you want to happen.

What if you are inert to everything , accept what you want to focus.

I have realised that startups require this level of cold-blooded saint like focus on the one thing you want to make happen.

Trust me ....it is really peaceful here

It's like ...the top of the mountain has a lot of room ....both literally and figuratively

It is pervasive and universal.

Present in all humans, everywhere.

What if we choose to analyze a business as a set of repeatable units?

What if we choose to analyze a business as a set of repeatable units?

think about it.....

I think it will have a huge consequence on our understanding of what a business really means at its core.

I think there should be only two stage in a business :
1) before finding the repeatable unit that makes money
2) after finding the repeatable unit that makes money

Monopoly update Number 1

  1. IP
  2. stickiness
  3. network effect
  4. IRR
  5. brand
  6. distribution
  7. irreversibility
  8. C---om
  9. tharak jagana
  10. lat lagana
  11. unique
  12. the curve
  13. the map
  14. path of least resistance
  15. sales cure all - mark cuban
  16. make money for others
  17. embrace constraints
  18. recruit customers, money will follow
  19. Repeatable Unit - kumar ujjwal

Acquire knowledge, apply knowledge

business is nothing but collection of repeatable unit.

cheesyyy dialogue -

"truth and kumar ujjwal have this weird tendency, they persist and come back again and again."

Now the real shit:

Repeatable unit - this term has come up again and again, to that extent that i could say that business is nothing but the application of small repeatable units.

one more corollary,

if you want to think about making a business, you need to think in terms of repeatable units.

I am a problem solver

it is good to be self-aware.

I will be honest, the only thing I love in life is solving problems.

if I do not have any big, hairy and mentally fucking problem to solve then I spend my time finding for one.

I feel fulfilled when I am struggling with a problem, the path from ignorance of a solution to finding the solution is unique and deeply fulfilling

I think physics did this to me.

I was never smart, and I still think I am not smart or intelligent. It is just that I like solving problems more than living.

Physics gave me a reason to exist, and I think I could live with this reality.

I do not know how many people will understand, but the one who has experienced this joy is one with the humanity.

the only power you have is the ability to choose a problem.

religion and business

even though I am an atheist but I realized that I could learn from religion as well.

religion :
1) self-claimed truth without data
2) habit and practices to support that self-claimed truth.

I think what makes religion persist for so long is that it had built these rituals or practices or habits for everyone who would come in contact with it. Sooner than you realize, those practices overpower your search for truth and you start believing those practices are itself the truth.

Now, if you want to extract a meta-level deduction from this knowledge then you will possibly have a powerful source of converting anything into a mission, a more than life experience.

religion could persist for millennia because of this simple self-evident truth.

Analogy

Business:
1) self-claimed truth with or without data (i.e this will work or product market fit)
2) you have to build habit and practices to support that self-claimed truth (management practices).

those who are finding you, will find you

all this might never be read and understood by those who want to understand it. But, even if one person will learn something from my experience I will consider the task well rewarded.

OR

once I become successful, there might be billions of people trying to learn from my experience.

the Only reason I am driven to do this, I know how hard it is to walk on the path I am walking. I want the path of the next kumar ujjwal to be a little easier than what I had to go through.  I did not have somebody to guide me through my difficult times. I hope my experience will help.

suggestion: whatever you believe is the truth, make a habit out of it.

knowledge and the journey for knowledge being converted to habit

I had read somewhere that knowledge is not sufficient, one has to act on the basis of that knowledge and convert that knowledge into a habit.

it is incredibly lonely at the top, but that is the price you pay for acting on your knowledge.

Natural curves exist

Find them to get succesful in life

be and all others will pick themselves up

I wish I could teach every human being about how to prioritize and give everything for what you want.

that will be a big contribution to humanity.

be the change you want to see.......sure.

what habits do i look in person ?

only one

the prioritization habit in their action.

simplicity is hard

I am compelled to believe that entrepreneurship is about prioritization.

All awesome entrepreneurs had to learn this non-intuitive skill set.

the flip side of this knowledge is that you have to consciously switch off it for maintaining your sanity.

Anyone who can diligently prioritize will have maximum chances of making it happen.

Entrepreneurship (none of these exercises are intuitive- hence the difficulty in forming the habit) :

1)  ruthlessly prioritize,
2)  put on your timeline,
3)  measure in terms of countable indicators and
4) repeat

If I will become anything in life, I can safely declare that ,after my family, the credit goes to you guys.

welcome to a purposeful life.

there are certain weakness in me that makes me good for business.

1) dyslexia
2) OCD - I could, literally, stay attached to an idea for as long as I want to.
3) low emotion stimulation
4) illusion of grandiosity
5) self-critical analysis
6) blunt
7) slow learning

will add more, as I will get to know about myself.

business = honesty

honesty is the best policy

especially in business, honesty will take you to places. your customers start vouching for you. You may like or not like dealing with a particular company but they feel sure dealing with you as they know that you will be honest about their money.

I learned this from British.

when I was in class 6th, my parents were really concerned about our ability to communicate in English,  so he enrolled us in a place called British council. Its a sort of a library with some courses in English.

back then, they were charging Rs 5000 per child for a period of three months. All three of us got enrolled, it was Rs 15,000 - a lot of money for a middle class to spend on something as intangible as English speaking skill.

long story short, during that period 9/11 took place. We were nearing completion of our course, i think two weeks were left. on the very next day of the tragic incident, all parents were informed that the place will be closed and, the best part, all the money will be given back.

I simply could not believe, had it been an Indian institute they would have just told us to run away and forget about the money.

But the British, they were amazing, gave us the money via cheque. I remember it because I was the one who collected those physical mails. When I saw those cheques, it had a deep impact on me.

I said to myself that when I will deal in money, I will try to be as honest as British.

Thank you for teaching me honesty in voluntary cooperation.

life is about searching, and then doing

most people don't spend enough time searching; instead, they spend most of their time doing shitty stuff.

its far better to be chanakya than chandragupta maurya

it is scalable.

interview question

What is the hardest thing you have done in life ?

Answer to this question tells a lot about the person

being able to speak the truth is going to be a huge social advantage

somehow society has designed itself to be perpetuating on multiple levels of lies.

Soon, people who could speak the truth and mean what they say will be as valuable as gold.

one region at a time

long back, I had heard in a conference that Howard Shultz was requesting his team members to focus on one cup at a time.

we make progress with each cup of coffee.

It explained, the simplicity of the entire organization.

It explained, priority to each team member.

It explained, how star bucks plan to conquer the world of coffee by deduction humans :)

agent of certainty

you have to personally make sure that it happens.

whatever it be.

agent of certainty

the meta human calculation for making relationships in life

I am getting supremely convinced , as time passes, that people are more interested in the meta solution and not the instance when they choose their company.

People can not articulate, but this calculation happens in their head without their conscious effort of making the calculation. They evaluate the person on the basis of meta-level characteristics, then make the decision about the depth of relationship they want to keep with any human being.

I have got enough examples where I could deduce it.

nothing happens in a startup until you make sure it does

what I mean by making sure :

1) you personally do it
2) delegate with follow up until it is done ( unhuman level of follow up)
3) repeat1 or 2

this is a pretty powerful deduction. I think I can extrapolate this deduction for general purpose utility as well.

I think we can replace the word startup in the title with "life".

better to say - Nothing happens in life until you personally make sure that it does.

Let me think about it....

the consequence of this deduction:

No uncertainty

Two biggest problems startups will face in twenty foret century

I see product market fit and marketing to be the biggest challenge of twenty first century startups

Distribution and sales is taken care by the internet

1 % owns 99 %

Friendly reminder

Corollary to rule number 1

You get full freedom to make anything happen

You choose how you want to perceive it.

Rule number 1

Nothing happens , until you personally make sure it does.

In startup ......

Nothing ....nothing ...nothing at all....

Remember it.

I learn it the hard way.

Make sure it does.

if it is not on your timeline...I am sure it is not going to be done..

you need to sort your task, prioritize and time map your activities on to your daily timeline....

it's that simple.

acquire knowledge, apply knowledge
