Measure self control

I needed a method to measure how much self control I possess. I came up with a simple idea, I wanted an objective method to compute self control in any individual.

But  there was a small problem, by definition self control is subjective in nature.

I thought really hard, but could not come up with some kind of a objective test.

After a while something struck my head, even though not perfect but the method i devised could work for now.

Give following simple instructions to anyone and check how long he or she could do it-
1) sit comfortably on a cushion.
2) keep you back straight.
3) close your eyes and focus your attention in the middle of your eyebrows(place is not important, process is).
4) you may sit for as much period you want.(no external pressure should be applied, the process is completely voluntary)
5) the longer you sit the more self control you possess.

Having a power is one thing and being able to apply it in a particular direction is another thing, but ar least it is a start.

I will try to refine the process of computing self control.
I tried today and I was able to sit for 2 hours.

For me duration is not so important as much as the process. It helps you focus your attention to the only thing you want to focus in that period of time. I have done this in the past hence I can tell you that over period your concentration power improves and your ability to give your entire self to anything increases exponentially.

Thank you, Budha.

Lets Experiment and Apply it in life.
